@Misha
MPC-HC is 99% identical to the old MPC. If you are having problems with MPC-HC you should report them in detail. Without specifics they can't fix it. If you don't report details, you will not be taking seriously and they may remove the old MPC.

Don't EVER, EVER, EVER think about discontinuing MPC. Media Player Homecinema is, in my opinion, total garbage and doesn't work well. And it's very user-unfriendly.

MPC is without a doubt, the best Media player that is available for any version of Windows.

The few programs that are better than this are only available through Linux.

So-- please reconsider your decision to discontinue MPC. I'm sure I'm not the only user that will thank you for it.

cheers

@GLowingStar
You have accidentally enabled D3D FullScreen. You can disable it in Options>Playback>Output.

@Cupid
Change the video renderer in MPC settings, or update your graphics driver.

@Tobias
Upside down video is because of bad graphics driver

MPC-HC-1.5.3.3904 is virtually useless. When double clicking a file, it goes fullscreen although option is not set to start in fullscreen.

Then, you can't escape the fullscreen mode and there is no way to leave (even ctrl-alt-del doesn't work).
Didn't have this issue with any previous installation of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Win7 32-bit.

Installed the latest K-lite codec Mega pack on my PC using Win-Vista 32Bit. Kindly never discontinue MPC-Regular, because MPC-HC-1.5.3.3904 or MP-HC-1.2 won't open instantly when a video file is opened, there is a time delay of 15 Sec's every time a video file is opened avi or mp4. And it opens instantly on MPC-Regular.

Please find a solution for this issue then please think of discontinuing MPC-Regular.

V.8.0 have some big improvements, but unfortunately the WM7 render flips and mirrors the whole picture making it useless. The ofter renderers seems to work nicely but om slow computers WM7 is the only usable since it uses much less resources.

Very nice as always, but please don't remove MPC Regular edition in the future version. I don't like Home Cinema because it doesn't have the DSM converter that Regular has. It's a great tool to extract things from mkv files.

Awesome codec pack. With this you won't need any other to play your media files and with a player supporting ffdshow and external codecs you will enjoy seamless playback for hours without a single playback error or missing codec.

I have used K-lite for years along with recently deceased KM Player (I know theres a new chinese site for it but the sound quality is horrible now) and now Im with GOM player.

I knocked off 1 star because recent K-lite 7.2 Mega Codec Pack did something and now all my media can't be associated to any player (not just GOM) I suspect its registry problem as when I uninstalled previous version of codec pack it detected broken/missing codecs.

Same old procedure uninstall previous version of K-lite, restart, install new version, restart never had any problems doing that before.

The internal filter H264/AVC (DXVA) in Media Player Classic - home cinema is NOT workin' now on Windows 7.

It was working before,... that was the only way the full HD 1080i videos played well on my PC... with ffdshow video decoder the Full HD videos(in H.264 format) don't play well, 'cause it requires more resources than the internal filter I think... Can somebody help me pleaseee... :)

I just downloaded the K-Lite Mega Codec and have already made use of it. I have already found that it has fixed problems and given me support for everything I need. With the K-Lite Mega Codec, I will be shocked to ever again find a media file that I cannot play on my computer.

I would recommend this to anybody. The K-Lite Mega Codec is essential for any user on the Internet. This is worth downloading, no matter how large the file size, no matter how long it takes to download, and no matter how bad people claim it to be.

Any of those that are hesitant to download the K-Lite Mega Codec, I strongly recommend you download it.

Very useful pack as usual , but unfortunately Real audio codec (COOK) problem still exists , the reason is obvious the codec is copyrighted and nonfree and this pack is free and still there isn't any alternative libraries .

I tried the solution mentioned in FAQ on my win7 and didn't work , after coping the five dlls and still the same problem playing RMVBs . I think in win7 it's the ***king user privileges issues preventing the mpc-hc from accessing a directory or I should install mpc instead .

And I noticed some lag playing FLVs as well .

keep the god work up and thanks

yes yes i agree,... FLV is kinda laggy and still cant play RMVB file,...but the rest are perfect,...like its name, its a real mega codec !!!

I have had problems with my codecs over the last 4 months. Have had my pc for 6 years and have NEVER had a problem with video or converting. Lately it's been upside down and sometimes won't play at all.

1 SOLUTION.

1 open your video.
2 right click on the picture part of the video.
3 Choose output.
4 choose system.
5 choose system default.
6 restart your video.

The problems SHOULD be solved....
*good luck*

1) Install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or Real Alternative first. You\'ll see the following directory:
C:\\Program Files\\K-Lite Codec Pack\\Real\\Codecs

2) Save a copy of this [Codecs] directory. Because it\'ll somehow disappear when RealPlayer is installed, or you install K-Lite after RealPlayer, this folder won\'t exist (I don\'t remember clearly).

3) Then, install RealPlayer. As expected, WMP and MPC cannot play rmvb/rm properly (without sound, missing RealAudio COOK)

4) Go Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> [Environment Variables] -> edit Path

Add the following path:
%path%;C:\\Program Files\\K-Lite Codec Pack\\Real\\Codecs

Adding the above path, [Codecs] folder is visiable to Windows. Now you try to play rmvb/rm with WMP and MPC, it will play smoothly again.

Yes this version is missing real media codec, and this is my solution,
1. Install K-Lite Mega codec Pack 6.5.0 and copy all the folder inside c:/Program Files/K-lite Codec Pack and save it for later.
2. Uninstall it.
3. Install K-Lite Mega codec Pack That work with Real Media, For Example (in my PC) V.6.1.0
4. Paste all the folder from previous copy (V.6.50) to the same location (c:/Program Files/K-lite Mega codec Pack)and overwrite it.
5. You're done
Now you can play Real Media Files with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack V 6.50
I Personally Like it and Love it.

I tested v5.61 to v6.5 on XPSP3 and there's no audio for rmvb. It always displays the COOK. I had to revert to v5.3 (I read somewhere that some people went back as far as v5.05 to get theirs working).

K-Lite is awesome for a freeware. I just hope they would address the audio issue with rmvb formats.

I read in a thread that you could go and configure the settings in ffdaudio for v6.5 but when I did it, the audio playback was horrible.
