AutoGK 1.60 Stable is out! "Its been almost a year since first public alpha was released. Since then AutoGK came quite a long way becoming one of the most popular one-click DivX/XviD conversion software." Unfortunally, the authour isn't 'enough motivated' by users. If you like the software consider donating any sum of money using AutoGK homepage.
 Finally, speed problems were solved! Now we can say that Free-Codecs.com is one of the fastest websites! We hope you're agree. :)
Xiph.org has announced the availability of Ogg Vorbis tools 1.1.0 and Ogg Vorbis library 1.1.0. This is the first major release since 1.0 and offers new encoder tunings for additional compression efficiency as well as a number of bugs fixes.
 Speed problems continue. The site code isn't optimized for high traffic and the pages are loading extremely slow. Please be patient, we're trying to fix the problem as soon as possible.

DivX Free 5.2.1 & DivX Pro 5.2.1 released! "A ton of fixes and enhancements, including full compatibility with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 and the localized versions of the DivX User Guide. There is also a new version of DivX Player sporting the 5.2.1 decoder for enhanced stability, performance, and video quality - and Dr DivX 1.0.6 is now available."
Although VideoLAN Client for Windows 0.8.0 was published everywhere we don't recommend you to install it because is just a public test version. If you want to be a beta tester download and try this new version of VLC but take care it still contains plenty of errors.
"VirtualDub 1.6.0 is out the door, and besides being the first experimental release in a while, it has a major new feature: it is the first version to have a native 64-bit (AMD64) build. This build is pretty raw, is missing a bunch of features and optimizations, and doesn't do much yet that really shows "the power of 64-bit." Nevertheless, it is a true AMD64 release, for those of you who must have a native release."
Koepi XviD-1.0.2-build was finally launched! "Take care not to believe other sites to have the binary before I compiled it, at least filename and filesize should be like usual!

The DivX Team has released Beta versions for DivX Pro 5.2.1 and Dr DivX 1.0.6. Some new features: support for Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, DivX Player 2.5.5 was included in both packs, Dr. DivX includes also DivX Pro 5.2.1... and many bug fixes!
Again problems with server! Some downloads don't work. We're trying to fix these problems as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience!
After years of freeware promotion, the "smart" guys from BSPlayer are asking now to remove their software from sites. It's easy to understand why they do this: MONEY. They need visitors to sell advertising on site(See this screenshot). You can't make money from ads without visitors. :)
It's your decision if you continue to support/use this software but we won't do it!
Starting today, 4 September, Free-Codecs.com will never provide downloads for BSPlayer! We don't do this because we are scared by ridiculous emails received from guys like Matjaz (by the way, who is this guy?), we do this because we don't want to support hungry companies without principles, like Webtech - the producer of BSPlayer.
And don't worry, there are many reliable players better than BSPlayer and you'll always find them listed here.
Please be patient, sometimes the pages are loading slow. We didn't move the site on the new server yet and the traffic is growing daily.
Although many newbies announced Koepi's XviD Codec 1.0.2, Koepi says: No XviD-1.0.2-binary yet! It'll come in some days, please be patient. I need to find the time to compile and test a build...
XviD 1.0.2 source code was already compiled, but Koepi or Nic didn't launch an official version of their binaries. So, we don't guarantee the quality of this release. If you really want to try first this new version of XviD, download XviD 1.0.2 compiled by Celticdruid. However, don't rush because you wont see any major improvements. This is a a bugfix release, nothing more!
